Into The New Year…

I know Im late, but HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
It’s been a busy start to 2023 for me and my family! Saima finally came home, as I have already posted and that has brought about some added responsibilities. I’ve gone over there a few times to clean. While my ex husband and his wife were staying there helping out, they didn’t do much in the way of cleaning. In fact, they basically trashed the place! Now, I’m not really complaining, they were so helpful in other ways, but having to go in and put things back they way that they should be has been a lot of work.
I had to clean and reorganize the pantry; it was trashed! According to Ryan, they went shopping almost daily for food! There is so much food in that pantry that its busting at the seams. The up side is that Saima and Ryan wont have to go shopping for a while. It took me about 4 hours to get this done. Ive also cleaned out the fridge and freezer, but didn't get pics of that! Again, so much food!!
I didnt do anything for New Year’s Eve; just stayed in and watched the ball drop at midnight. Heck, I didnt even make a bunch of snacks like I typically do. I missed having Paige and Brayden here like I typically do; it was too quite here! Of course my mom was here, but that was nothing exciting. She complained that I demanded to watch the ball fall; she said it was boring. She wanted to watch some show, but yes, I demanded that I follow my tradition. My house, my TV, I pay the bills! So there!!
Paige is still in Wisconsin, but will be coming home soon. She left just after Christmas, and will be staying for her birthday tomorrow. A lot has happened while shes been gone this time-some good and some bad. I think that she’s had a lot of growing up that has happened during this trip. that’s is a good thing! She has realized that adulting isn’t all its cracked up to be and that its hard work to be an adult. She has decided that she is going to do her 2 years of college here in Michigan and take my offer to live here and do school full time and work part time to save money. When she went there this time, she had it in her had that she was going to move to Wisconsin this summer, work full time and do full time school. I’m happy that she is going to do at least her 2 year degree before thinking about moving!
She also came out as being gay to all of our family and friends via Facebook. She finally felt comfortable with herself to tell people that yes, I am gay! I am so very proud of her!! I know it wasn’t easy and that its a scary thing, but she did it!! Her GF, Sydney/Syd seems like Avery nice girl and he seems to have a good head on her shoulders too. She’s part of why Paige had=s decided to go to school and get her 2 yr degree here!
Paige also colored her hair RED and got her nose pierced! I’m not happy that she lied to me about where she got the piercing done (not in a shop!), but what’s done is done. It’s going to take a while for me to trust her again cuz its not the only thing she has lied to me about this trip. She knows how I feel about being lied to…its one thing a loathe!! It’s something we will have to work on when she gets back home.
Last week I had to take my car to the shop; I avoided an accident and crashed into the sidewalk curb, breaking my tie-rod and brakes in the process. I know, doesn’t sound like I avoided an accident, but at least I didn't get hit head on by the car that ran the red light…the guy next to me did tho. $750 later, my car runs great again; Happy Birthday to Me! yeah, that was my birthday gift to myself last week-Yippee!!
So a friend of mine did a little editing of an old picture I have of the day that Paige was born. Her “Sperm Donor”, Darrin was there on the day that she was born so of course he was in the family picture. But, he fled the country, with warrants for his arrest in 2007 and never had contact with her again. Ive wanted to edit him out for many years, but am not good enough to do it. So a friend of mine did. Mind you, the quality of the picture itself is grainy, but it makes me happy to not see him in that picture any more!
I think thats about it…I need to get busy around here. My place always seems to get trashed and I don like it! But I also find myself feeling too depressed when my mo is around to do anything. UGH!! It’s a vicious circle and I hate it. I’ll be so glad when shes moved out.
