My Current View…

The sun is shining brightly today and its slowly starting to warm up. I need to get busy around here, but I figured I would take a few minutes to write an entry.
Paige and I stayed up late Friday night watching “The Conjuring”. I have to admit that she and I are scary movie junkies!! We love to watch the scary movies late at night. I have yet to get her to watch “Winchester”, she says that Brayden, my grandson, told her it was way too scary. yeah, it was scary but no more so than some of the other movies we’ve watched. My mom and I watched “We have a ghost” last night starring David Harbour, from Stranger Things. It was pretty cute.
Ive been thinking about how I am going to do some landscaping around my house this year. I dont want to have alot of maintenance, but I do want some flowers and to attract some hummingbirds, butterflies and bees. I’m going to ask my son, Dustin, to build me a trellis to put in front of my back deck, to grow come kind of flowering vine up. Ive already got some Lilly bulbs planted by the steps and I want to plant a tree between my house and the neighbors. Beyond that, I’m not sure what I am going to do.
I NEED to stain my back deck! It’s time for that, but thats fairly easy to do. I just need to decide what color I am going to do it. My shed needs some work; one of the slats pulled apart from the roof joints and now there is a huge gap that we had to cover with a tarp for the winter. Dustin tried to push the slat back into place last fall, but it wouldn’t budge. He and my other son, Robbie, are going to see what they can do to fix it this spring. It’s a plastic rubber maid type shed. It’s been suggested to build a free standing roof for it. Ive got most of the lumber to do it, I’d just have to get shingles.
Since my mom moved in, my elliptical has been store in my unfinished master bathroom. Well, Paige and I are going to bring it out and see if it will work to have it in Paige’s bedroom. She’s been working really hard to lose weight and now wants to use the machine. I too want to use it, as it will be easier than going to ICR when I’m working. Whether I go for the managers position or continue with my daycare business, I have to work. But I also have to exercise for my heart health. Its just one way I am working to take back my house from my mom! I need to do that for myself.

About a month ago, I did some pruning of my schefflera and I am loving the outcome. the growth on the top, where I pruned it it just amazing!! the stems that I took off, are now in water to force roots to grow, so I can then pot them. This plant, is a “baby” from a plant that I received at my daughter, Lauri Ann’s funeral in 1985. Ive had it that long. the original plant died a couple years ago, but luckily I was able to save a cutting and made a new plant from it. I call It “Lauri’s Plant” and it helps me have a part of her with me always.
Time to get busy around here; the house isn’t going to clean its self.
Have a beautiful week folks!
