EMS and the ER…

Good Sunny Sunday from Mid-Michigan!! the sun is shining and its nearly 50* outside! It’s like a beautiful spring day. According to the weather man, its supposed to be nice all this week, with temps in the 50’s. I plan to get outside to get some sun and fresh air. Lord knows I need it!
Thursday morning I was taken to the hospital via ambulance for severe dehydration due to throwing up for 14 hours straight. I had been having dry heaves for several hours before I was taken to the hospital. My tongue and mouth were so dry, it felt like my tongue was swollen. My eyes were dry, I was having muscle cramps and stomach cramping. I actually threw up en route to the hospital. The EMS gave me an IV in my hand, fluids and Zofran on the way and that stopped my puking.
When I got to the hospital, they gave me anther IV in my upper arm because my veins were rolling and the vein in my upper arms was “really speaking” to my nurse. Oddly enough, it didnt really hurt when it went in, not like the one in my hand did. they had saline going, full open. They ran all kinds of tests, including a covid test because Paige had tested positive for Covid last week. Everything came back negative, so they determined that I had a severe stomach virus, so the sent me home after 6 hours of fluids, with Zofran.
I am still not feeling 100%, I still have mild nausea and stomach cramping but I am not puking anymore! My body is sore and I feel like Ive been beat up. It’s hard to believe how sore my core is-it hurts to cough and sneeze. My arms are sore from holding the bucket close to my chest and my chin is bruised from resting it on the bucket while throwing up. I’m being very careful about what I eat; very bland and soft foods. The ER Doc said this could take up to 2 weeks to completely pass. UGH!! I can not be sick for 2 weeks!!
Before I got sick, I started to work on my next tattoo; a cow for my bovine valve when I had OHS. I am not good at shading, so whoever I have do the tattoo will have to put some final touches on it, but its a start. I think that I will get it done on my upper left arm.
I’m planning on watching the SuperBowl tonight! I had planned on having all kinds of yummy snacks and food, but with my stomach as tender as it is, I will probably just have eggs and toast. Not what I had i mind while watching the game, but it is what it is. I’m not really a fan of either team, but if I had to pick one, I think I’ll be rooting for the Eagles. I’m not a fan of Kanas City.
